DR. JACKIE PIEPKORN

CO-FOUNDER & CHIEF VETERINARIAN

Dr. Jackie Piepkorn has been practicing veterinary medicine since her graduation from Iowa State University in 1990. The majority of Dr. Jackie's time is spent between her two clinics, Westonka Animal Hospital and Lake Minnetonka Pet Wellness Center.

When she’s not at her clinics, Dr. Jackie enjoys volunteering as a trail vet at sled dog races throughout the United States. Since 1996, she has traveled as far east as the CanAm Crown in northern Maine to as far west as the Iditarod in Alaska and has helped at many sled dog races in between. Dr. Jackie also volunteers at the Minnesota State Fair Surgery suite participating either as a surgeon or as a moderator explaining the surgery taking place. For many years, Dr. Jackie taught senior vet students surgery in the small animal elective surgery rotation at the University of Minnesota Veterinary School.

Dr. Jackie has lived in Mound for more than 25 years and enjoys being involved in the community in many ways. She was instrumental in founding the pet-focused event, Dog Days Westonka. She is also one of the founders of The Lake Minnetonka Klondike Dog Derby, sits on the board of Directors, and is the Chief Veterinarian for the race.
