Danielle McGunigal

Danielle hails from MacDowall, Saskatchewan, Canada, where she runs Tar City Kennels. A third-generation musher, she’s been racing sled dogs for as long as she can remember—starting her very first race at just three years old. Today, Danielle is grateful to share her lifelong passion with her partner, Moe, and their two children, Ellis and Grace, making mushing a true family tradition. When she’s not on the trails, Danielle works as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department and enjoys riding horses and spending time with her family. With 27 years of mushing experience, she’s excited to take on the Klondike as a Rookie with her lead dogs, Ninja and Wanda.
