Steve Goedken

Steve likes to joke that he’s just “an old man out playing in the snow with his best friends”—and he wouldn’t have it any other way. After moving from Iowa to Minnesota 31 years ago, he traded in his hunting dogs for sled dogs and has loved every minute since. Though this will be his first year racing the Klondike, Steve has been part of the event for the past two years through registration and brings 10 years of mushing experience to the starting line. His notable teammates include Nome and Chandler, and when he’s not out on the trails, you’ll find him fishing, canoeing, or exploring Minnesota’s beautiful national forests.
