Rita lives in Tofte, Minnesota with her husband Bill. Her friend Paul Ellering introduced her to the sport over 25 years ago, and she has been mushing ever since. Her favorite moments are out on the trail in the silence of nature with her dogs. She loves watching them go from rambunctious pups to great and happy sled dogs. Rita has raced in many different races over the years, the Beargrease Marathon, Gunflint Mail Run, Can-Am Crown, and many more.
